In 2014, we walked the West Highland way and since then, a long distance bicycle trip around Scotland was on our wishlist.

We will take the overnight ferry to Newcastle and will cycle via the Hadrians cycle way from east to west up to the Hebrides, north via the Highlands up to John o’ Groats and return to Newcastle via the North Sea Cycle route.

The entire round trip will be around 2.300 km and when we are back in Newcastle, we will decide if we come back by ferry or continue by bicycle via the NSCR.

The blue track is the West Highland Way, the red track is our planned cycle route.
