Day 15 - Burnham Market to Norwich - 81km: Yesterday, it was the first time that we were in a hotel where also other cyclists were staying, we are definitely not in the tour cycling season. Today's target destination is Norwich, around 80 km. When we were at Restrap, they told us that this part of the route would not have any steep climbs anymore and we are confident that we can easily manage distances between 80 and 100 km with our lighter packing and gravel bikes. When we leave in the morning, it's still drizzling but the weatherforecast for the rest of the day and the next coming days is cloudy, no rain. Perfect.
Day 16 - Norwich to Beccles - 43km: Yesterday evening, we strolled around Norwich and decided that we would stay in Norwich until after lunch. Too many things to see. It's also just another 330 km to London, with our new average km's per day good for 3,5 days of cycling. Found a lodging in Beccles with the name "Flemish House", a score of 10 on booking and just over 60 pounds. Halfway, we're meeting up with Beverley and Julian who are following Linda on Instagram. Julian tells us that we can also take fully assembled bikes on the Eurostar from London to Brussels. Something that we need to check out as it would be a good alternative to take a train to Dover, ferry to Dunkerque, cycle to Belgium and train to Brussels.
Day 17 - Beccles to Copcock - 97km: Todays target is to get a little further than Ipswich. As our breakfast is mainly fruits and Yoghurt with granola, we tend to get hungry before lunctime. In Halesworth, we're having the most delicious "sweet" fruit scone with a hot chocolate milk. Passing through Framlington (Home town of Ed Sheeran), we're having a chat with Ian, he wants a photo of us. We suppose it's mainly because his son just bought a Fairlight Secan 3.0, exactly the same as Dirk's. It will be delivered in a few weeks.
Day 18 - Copcock to Chelmsford - 97km: The sun is out again, the roads are scenic and we're on a bycicle path next to different canals where you can see the typical narrowboats. The section up to Maldon is just fantastic. It's a saturday evening and the hotels in Chelmsford are as usual in the weekends rather expensive. We finally settle for a Travelodge at 120 pounds a night, not really our favorite hotelchain but you can always take your bicycle up to the room and that's an advantage.
Day 19 - Chelmsford to London - 89km: Last day is going like a breeze, we're having lunch in Harlow and reach London around 4PM. Straight to St-Pancras international to find out how we can book our bikes on the Eurostar. Yes, it's possible without a need for extra covers for our bicycles. Looking for a hotel for 2 nights, we're again extremely lucky to find one for 110 pound a night, just 5 minutes walking from Soho area. All hotels in the neighbourhood are minimum twice the price.
Day 20 - London: A day of leisure, we're having lunch in our favorite restaurant in Soho, Blanchette. In the evening, we're going to the MJ musical at the Prince Edward theatre, an amazing ending to another perfect bike holiday.
Day 21 - London to home - 15km: 2 hours by train and a relaxing 15 km along the Brussels-Charleroi canal. First stop: Belgian chip shop
