Day22: Sandefjord to Horten - 57km
In Sandefjord, you can take a 2.5 hour ferry to Strömstad in Sweden, one of the options if you do not have enough time to cycle or want to shorten the full NSCR. The weather is perfect now and we continue to Horten where the ferry will bring you in 30 minutes to Moss, still in Norway.
We’re passing Tønsberg, Norway’s oldest city, and Asgårdstrand where Edvard Munch had his summerhouse.

Day 23: Horten to Moss to Fredrikstad - 60km
It’s Pentecost and we did not find any supermarket open in Horten to buy some lunch for today. In Moss, after checking with some locals, we find some breadrolls for lunch at a petrol station. We hope to reach Fredrikstad by this evening so that we can fetch dinner in a restaurant.

Day 24: Fredrikstad to Strömstad - 73km
Pentecost Monday, all supermarkets still closed but we’ll arrive in Sweden today where it’s all open. When we cross the border, we only see Norwegian cars going both directions. A few km’s after the border, this becomes clear. Norwegians cross the border for shopping all the things which are a lot more expensive in Norway. We see people with shoppingcarts piled up with softdrinks, cookies, candy, etc…

Day 25: Strömstad to Fjällbacka - 60km
Yesterday evening in the campsite’s kitchen, we met Alex and Emily. They just started their 2nd world cycle trip and are planning to be on the road for 4 years. You can follow them on instagram on @couple_days_off . By the end of the day, we’re approaching Fjällbacka via a golf course and 2 golfers briefly started yalking to us. Later in the evening when we go out for dinner, we see them again as they are having a pizza in the same restaurant. We’re invited for breakfast tomorrow morning by Erik and he will pick us up by boat at 9am as his house is on one of the islands.

Day 26: Fjällbacka to Uddevalla - 62km
What a start of the day, Erik bought this house some 26 years ago from an aging fisherman and remodelled it completely. The only way to get here is by boat. His yesterdays golfpartner, Hans, lives next door. There only around 25 houses on the island and no real roads, all of them have boats. When walking up the hill, we can see from far away the house where Ingrid Bergman used to live.
We’re back on the main land around lunchtime but still manage to cycle up to Uddevalla, just leaving 2 more days to reach our endpoint Göteborg.

Day 27: Uddevalla to Stenungsund - 51 km
It’s 82 km’s to Kungälv, leaving hust 24 km for the last day to Göteborg. After just a few km’s, we already know that this is not going to work out as we are stopping to much for taking photo’s and shooting video’s. The revised plan is to stop in Stenungsund where there is also a camping 2 km’s out of the city. Good decision as the camping restaurant has a special evening with live music. This now really feels like a holiday in a tropical paradise.

Day 28: Stenungsund to Göteborg - 57 km
Last day and it goes fast. We left early in the morning so that we can already visit Göteborg in the afternoon. Tickets for the journey back home have also been booked. The overnight ferry from Göteborg to Kiel in Germany on monday afternoon. Train from Kiel to Frankfurt with 1 connection to Brussels on tuesday. Easy.

A few days in Göteborg to wind down, complete the blog, clean up photos and videos and do some Swedish shopping.
